A rt has been a life-long passion of Verna's...
no matter what the medium.
Born in Abbeville, Louisiana of Acadian heritage, she moved with her
family to the small fishing village of Bayou La Batre, Alabama at an
early age. Her early works reflected the bayous and coastal areas. They
still do today, but she has widened her interests to so many other
things such as wildlife, the Southwest, still lifes and candid pictures

Over the years, Verna has helped many students to really see things that only an artist tends to see! They come back with amazement as to how many more things they now notice. Art, painting mostly, is something Verna feels very strongly about and she loves to see others become so proud of their work! She encourages all of her students to share ideas with each other. The class that she teaches now is such a great group of people. They critique each other, but they also cheer on one another. |

As a matter of fact, sometimes there is so much laughter in the class that they have to take a short break! Painting should be fun....if it' isn't fun ...don't do it! |
