Middle Bay Lighthouse

Middle Bay Light was erected in 1885. In 1967 Mobile's bay area citizens rescued the lighthouse from the wrecking ball. It was renovated and is now owned by the Alabama Historical Commission, Mobile, AL.
Biloxi Lighthouse

Built in 1848, this is the only lighthouse built in the middle of a busy highway! It's located in Biloxi, MS and has survived Hurricane Katrina.
Pensacola Lighthouse

The port's first lighthouse was built in 1824. The channel shifted and a new light was required. The 150' tower was inaugurated in 1859 and is the tallest lighthouse on Florida's Gulf Coast. Automated after 1970, it remains an active aid to navigation on the Pensacola Naval Air Station.
Key West Lighthouse

Located in Key West, FL, this lighthouse gives little hints of its long travail with storms. A devastating hurricane pummeled Key West in1846 and severely damaged the 1826 tower. Its keeper, Barbara Mabrity, barely escaped. Several of her children perished. the tower was rebuilt a few years later, and increased to its present height of eighty-seven feet in 1895.
Pascagoula Lighthouse

Having fallen into disrepair as it sat idle during the Civil War, the lighthouse was repaired and put back into service by 1868. In 1906 a hurricane of tremendous power struck the area and flattened the lighthouse. It was never rebuilt. Also known as the East Pascagoula River Lighthouse. Pascagoula, MS.

Ship Island Lighthouse 1888

Ship Island's square open-frame lighthouse replaced the old brick tower built in 1853. This lighthouse was used from 1887 to 1972 when it was destroyed by fire.
Round Island Lighthouse

This 50 ft lighthouse located on the Pascagoula River (MS) was erected in 1859 and was destroyed in 1998 by Hurricane Georges.
